Fairfield is a small town just 5 miles West of Bloomfield, Ky. on Highway 48. Many years ago it was the home of H. McKenna Distillery. Beautiful older homes line the streets of this quiet country town. Agriculture is the primary industry with large farms surrounding the city. St. Michaels Catholic Church (Circa 1792) sits on a hill overlooking the city and in 1913 a School of the same name was opened and educated many current Nelson County Residents up until it closed in 1968. St. Michaels is the oldest Catholic Church in Nelson County and served early settlers migrating from Maryland to the frontier. Come breathe the country air and sit a spell.
